Back is fine.

Drew- Thanks and I will check out the shots. Lambo got a cut shot but Phil covered it. I try not to let Lambo get me because he is a rhythm blocker and once he gets in that rhythm he is really scary.

TJ- Beginning of next years seeding is determined by your best and last 4 out of 5 placements from the previous year. Phil and I have 5 1st place finishes so we will have a 1.0 seed and be first. Lambo and Stein have a 1st, 5th, 3rd, 3rd, 2nd so will have a 2.25 seed. Throw out the 5th for them.

I will BLOG on Vegas later today and answer questions on it.

ToddTodd Rogershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00918938938191353408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8423724127885960216.post-71387222564522923552007-09-04T06:49:00.000-07:002007-09-04T06:49:00.000-07:00Another great win in Cincinnati! Congratulations. ...Another great win in Cincinnati! Congratulations. That was some of the highest caliber play I've seen in a while from all four guys on the court in that second game.
Do you ever stand there after Phil crushes a sick angle hit and say to yourself "I'm glad I don't have to try and dig that!!". Actually you might have to in Vegas!
Last year you got to play with Lambo and Jake. Who played the left side? Will you choose Dax just for the heck of it if you make it to the finals? Anyhow good luck in Vegas.
I saw on bvbinfo that it was Dax's birthday today so Happy Birthday to him.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18280395167910214856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8423724127885960216.post-63469100671028787182007-09-04T06:26:00.000-07:002007-09-04T06:26:00.000-07:00Todd, Hope you were able to figure out the pulle...Todd,

Hope you were able to figure out the pulley system for your net and that it got some use before your yet again adventurous flight! I have included the link to our little paradise here in Georgia if you would like to take a look. I would like to say that the finals were exciting but after watching big Phil shut Lambo down like that in the first with his blocks the game took on more of a clinic type feeling. It amazes me how fast Phil is improving, I guess that speaks to your coaching ability. Well, glad you made it home to the family safely, have fun in Vegas. By the way, one question? My friend and I were talking about this the other day. How do they figure out the seeding for the first event for next year? Ending points from this year? Just wondering. Thanks again for the updates.

http://marshvolleyballparadise.spaces.live.com/

TJ.TJ Marshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12920810381421021489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8423724127885960216.post-67346087633117704522007-09-04T00:47:00.000-07:002007-09-04T00:47:00.000-07:00Todd,Hey! It's a lot more fun, as a spectator, to have it have the games go down to the wire that to see (another) smack down in the finals.

I agree with drew: You and Phil looked very solid. Aside from a couple early errors in Game 2, both of you hit everything in and seemingly where intended. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys do some more damage in the FIVB.

One question: How do you handicap the field for Vegas? Last year I remember that you were vitually flawless as was Nygaard (until the finals). Do you think it will come down to you and Phil?

Dave (still) in San DiegoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8423724127885960216.post-58625415361534200022007-09-03T21:00:00.000-07:002007-09-03T21:00:00.000-07:00Todd, great win for you and phil again this weeken...Todd, great win for you and phil again this weekend in cincy...now on to vegas and san fran for some extra spending money...after 9/11 i pack 2 bags...i check one and always carry on the other, pretty much expecting my checked bag to get lost...on to my question-when you get to the finals this weekend, who will you chose as a partner, and can you chose phil, or do the rules prevent that from taking place...good luck to you this weekend and enjoy your time there....alan beverly/birmingham, alAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8423724127885960216.post-21397311851212495082007-09-03T16:54:00.000-07:002007-09-03T16:54:00.000-07:00I had a brief chat with Jose Loiola after his mat...I had a brief chat with Jose Loiola after his match with Carlucci/Seiffert. He apparently underwent hip arthroscopy in San Francisco in the off season last year.

He did not undergo any reconstructive hip surgery (replacement or resurfacing). The hip arthroscopy is not to dissimilar to knee arthroscopy only longer instruments and cameras.

Jose said he "had a clean out and some spurs removed" He was definately getting out of the sand, but still nothing like his old self. Looked like he had an occasional hard landing, and a little limp, but he said he was still getting stronger.

jeffAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8423724127885960216.post-30019999397137902992007-09-03T14:18:00.000-07:002007-09-03T14:18:00.000-07:00A question for you. Do you just have his number, or was he somehow blocking less-tough than usual?

Thanks,

Drew

P.S. - I saw that the URL for the Manhattan photos was too long and didn't completely show in the blogger window. If you got an error that's why. I pasted it below in two halves. Paste the first line in a new Browser window, then the second one right after it (make sure there are no spaces between), and it should work fine.

http://share.shutterfly.com/action/

welcome?sid=8UbM27lszYbEAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8423724127885960216.post-32835025558590337432007-09-03T14:07:00.000-07:002007-09-03T14:07:00.000-07:00Way to keep rolling, guys! I'm amazed at how Phil picks his game up a notch every time at crunch time to make huge plays.

I took some shots at Manhattan Beach that I thought you might enjoy. I'm obviously not a pro, but I thought these would bring back good memories. You and Phi...Congratulations on the Crocs Cup Todd! You and Phil have had an outstanding season and I bet you wish the Olympics were starting today as you guys are like a well oiled machine. I am looking for something to read what was the title of the book you spiked in the airport? At this point do you think the other teams are psyched out when they find out they are playing you guys? Sometimes teams alter their game to counteract your Defense and Phil's block so much that they get away from what they are used to doing and what they do best. Maybe NOT having a box coach sometimes is better. I notice you didnt mention the back so your trainers must have had a good week getting you ready. Enjoy the holiday, best regards from my family to yours and kick some tail in Vegas and Frisco....Scott from Cape CodUmassJSPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05437720736558205233noreply@blogger.com
