Great pics with the President. Yeah it seems W is a big Todd Rogers fan. Todd is definitely living the dream over there in China. What is that tape Phil has on his side?

Hi Todd (and Phil)

I just watched the match against the Latvians. Wanted you to know that I was really impressed with your after-match interview. It's gotta be hard to talk to the press after an upset but you guys showed strength of character and sportsmanship that is rare today.

Great JOB!

Erin

Todd-
I already knew the result but even watching the replay on NBC I felt like sticking a butter knife in my thigh. We are living and dying with you guys out here and you know we are going to love you guys no matter what happens. As I have posted before you guys are class individuals compared to some of the jabronis I have met on other teams in the past. You guys just have to go back out there and stay within yourselves and the results will be there. Not sure what the story is with the sunglasses but I remember that Stoklos never used to wear them. Then he got a deal with Ray Bans to wear the Killer Loops and it took him a while to adjust and win a tournament. Anyway my advice is to go out and have a few beers, watch a cool movie like Old School and get some shut eye. Great challenges are ahead but also are great opportunities. You guys will do it. Now I have to go out an mow my lawn and sweat my arse off...Scott from Cape Cod

Saw your match on TV. Latvia was a hard thing to happen. I have faith in you guys though. Now's the time to toughen it up and show the world what you've got. Tear through the Swiss on Monday!

The rest of us back home are rooting for you guys! Good luck and represent us with pride!

Todd,

Tough loss to Latvia, but there is no question as to who the number 1 team in the world is at this point in time. I expect you guys will go out there and prove it over the next 2 weeks. Grasping victory from the clutches of defeat. I love the fact that you and Phil no matter what always ACT like champions and represent the sport of beach volleyball right.

See you in Beijing!

Todd,

saw the loss against latvia what a bummer.

Tell Phil to take his right thumb and jam it in to the left nosril of your opponent. Tell him to take his left thumb and jam it in to right nostril of your opponent. He is drifting on his block, tell him to jump and penetrate the net.

As for you don't guess, react to the play. You guys can do it.

It's pool play, not single elimination so...you win the next two and no one will remember your first match. Best of luck!

todd, i agree with one of the masters of the game kent steffes...no need to 2nd guess...phil dominates at the net and you get the digs and clean up the messes...do the things that got you there...it's not how you start, but how you finish...alan beverly/birmingham alabama

From a fellow Santa Barbara loc, and UCSB alum, sending you all the best wishes in your quest for the gold. No matter what happens, you've done us all proud. Bring it home, baby.

Glad I didn't get to see your first match. Glad I got to see your 2nd!
That's the Phil & Todd we've seen most of this year! Great match, Phil was Phil and you were da sideout machine.
In 2012, if you and Phil are still there(or if you're coaching Phil), make sure there's a portable stool so he can sit @ the opening ceremonies!
Congrats and go win your pool!

Wishing you guys all the best tonight. I'll be rooting for you even though I wont be able to watch. All of you are in my prayers for your continued good health and success. And as we use to say in the 70"s " Keep on a Truckin" LOL.

Todd,

Huge fan here, awesome win for the 2nd game, we all know the 1st game was a fluke. I expect smooth sailing from here on to the gold!

Scott- Phil had a little injury in his ab area and the kinisio tape helps stabilize it. Thanks for the encouraging words too.

Kelly - Thanks.

Sig - Thanks. I do my best.

Erin- Thanks. Phil and I try our best to be good sportsmen even when we do lose. And it isn't always easy.

George - Thanks and did just that.

Kent- Really you or MB in disguise?

Garret- Amen to the portable stool!

Bob- Wasn't quite smooth sailing but it was still golden. :)

Great job guys. It's a joy to watch you guys no matter the outcome. Enjoy your gold and celebrate your victory... you both deserve it. Thanks for allowing us this small glimpse of what your journy has been. I'm from a small town in kansas and this blog made it feel like you were our home town "boys" at the friday night game, and we were there rooting you on from the stands and running the field with you all. thanks again and god bless you both and your families. Hope to watch you all again ( once you all get some rest )
