Arrived in GR yesterday afternoon with Phil and Nick. As expected it was a bit of a weather shock going from Brazil to SB to GR. About a 70 to 90 degree difference. Actually feel kind of fortunate since last week the midwest was well below 0 degrees. This is almost balmy in comparison.
We play tonight. I play Casey, then Nick and then Phil. I am trying to convince the AVP to do a 4 person co-ed event after we play. It is what we did in Brazil and it was a blast. Can do either with men hitting and blocking or women hitting and blocking. Hopefully I can get them to do it. I think the other players would go for it. I know Phil and EY want to do it.
I will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

WOW! You are literally in the middle of no where. You have been to the Oval Office, China, Brazil, all over Europe and now you are in a place that thinks Ted Nugent is the President of the United States. Actually we would probably be better off if he were right now.
I think Grand Rapids is near Belmar Beach on the Great Lakes where there was a thriving Beach VB community. Isnt that where 2 AVP guys threw down...maybe Steffes and Lewis..back in the day...not sure. I know Grand Rapids has a hockey team in the AHL the Griffins but otherwise there cant be much going on there. Have a great tournament. I hope AVP has a New England event this year. Thank you soo much for comming to our practice last night. I'm sorry its so cold here it really does suck, but we got that heat wave which made it like 32 so that was delightful...but nothing compared to Brazil I am sure. I just wanted to thank you for coming. I didn't get to go tonight to the game because of my statistics class...3 hours of pain, but I am sure you guys did great. Well thanks again for coming, your little speech will be useful in my coaching. ok well ttyl.

todd, how great was it for your 4 baller team just wearing out the thin beast......i don't know what kind of $$$$ is being won, but i would stay in his head about the women helping him block, and i thought i read where deno stuffed one on phil's skull; can you get a peak at a soft avp summer beach schedule; holly's website states 1 tour start at panama city beach florida last weekend in march..any dates yet and beach venue....thank you todd...alan beverly/birmingham alabama
Scott- Be nice now Scott. The GR area is pretty cool. Played in Muskegon and Grand Haven way back in the day and it was awesome. Muskegon was where Lewy and Steffes had a nice squabble. Maybe we will be up in the Cape Cod area this year!

Kaitlyn- I was glad Todd Allen asked me to come out and speak to your team and the guys team. I had a good time meeting all of you. Several of your teammates were at the event and I think they had a good time. I feel your pain with statistics. Was not my favorite class either. Good luck.
Alan - The first night was on the women's net with the 4's so the guys just set and played D. We crushed them as Casey's passing was nails and Di's hitting was like Phil's hitting is. She was unstoppable. Lot of fun. Coming to Charleston I believe. What stops last year were close to you?
