I just watched the Smith/Stokolos vs Kiraly/Frohoff 1989 Ft Myers Open Final on ESPN Classic....IT WAS GLORIOUS!!!! The hats and shorts they wore really sucked but the old rules scoring, no game clock and regulation size court made me a bit misty for the old days. Marlowe was at the top of his game in the booth and the girls in the crowd still had real breasts. It was just 21 years ago but it seems like 121 years ago. Hopefully someone at the AVP is watching and decides that America wants the AVP back and we want the FIVB and their rules to go down the toilet. Great show.
Todd and Phil are dominating so far in Florida...looks like they had a great Winter. I hope Todd comes back to the blog here and gives us some of what is going on in his head.
