I have to respond to the RR comment first.
I didn't want to use the term "choke" as I felt it was disrespectful to Jake and Rosy. They played better than we did and that is the bottom line.
Secondly, I won't delve into the trash talking and bashing of other players. It is not my style and you won't find me doing such on this blog. That being said, anyone that wants to post that kind of stuff on my BLOG is welcome to do so. Just don't expect me to engage in it as well.
Lastly, Jake and Rosy had one win and two losses against us on the FIVB tour. They did have a better overall year in my opinion though. By the way, is this Meathead?
Arsenal - Wanted to respond to some of your questions.
1. FIVB/AVP conflicts. Phil and I are only planning on missing Chicago to play in Austria. Other than that event, we will be playing in all of the AVP events.
2. Man Made vs. Real Beaches - I like to play on a real beach period. Hermosa and MB are great to play on and easy on the body. Most of the man made beaches are hard packed surfaces and work the muscles and joints pretty good. Places like Huntington Beach and Santa Barbara's West Beach are pretty hard packed even though being on a true beach. This past weekend was good jumping sand but not overly hard packed. It is tough to make a man made beach similar to a real beach but so far this year the AVP has done a good job.

I play at Huntington Beach all the time. Where they have the tournaments is down the beach from the regular playing area. In fact there aren't any courts where they set up the AVP. Most of the beach goers head closer to the water and the space where the tournament is is a no-man's land. That's why it's so hard-packed because no one walks there or plays volleyball on that surface. But true, I've play in Manhattan Beach and that sand is soft and deep.
Bummer that you are not going to be in Chi-Town!! Best of luck though!! So who do yo think will be the team to beat there since you guys wil be gone?

Dude thanks for the response. You are right about Huntington. I can feel the differnce between Huntington vs Hermosa/Manhattan when walking from court to court. Much easier. The walking boards help. Except when you get splinters like I did (nothing major). I am looking forward to
Hermosa and hopefully you pull a side volley dig.

The only reason I think you guys choked is b/c you guys own them head-2-head and everyone knows it. It should have never crossed your mind about the money and just how easy it has been to win against them. If that would have happened you guys would have easily won. Thats all.
But the 1st game, the only real difference was the fact that Phil got 2 dribbler aces, which is luck of course, but valid points. Other than that it was even steven. Then the 2nd two sets didn't even seem like you guys were in it at all, thats why I said what I said.
I know you are the Ultimate Professional (which is rare in pro sports) and the comments I made come from my passion for the game and my friend Sean. As you can probably tell, I just hate losing to you 2 cause thats all thats stands from Rosey/Gibb and every title it seems. Its kinda like the Pistons vs the Celtics/Lakers. They get to the Eastern Conf Finals or NBA Finals every year and loose to their arch nemisis. I just hope that Rosie just like Isiah can break through to be the champion he is.
With that said, cash that giant $50,000 check and buy some shots for the Raiders at Sangria over the weekend, we'll need it.

I loved watching the finals on Sunday. I haven't seen Gibb block like that before against you guys. He was hot in game 2. Almost as hot as you and Phil were in game 1 and 3. But not quite :)
