SB Weekend

Sorry everyone. Been swamped. That will pretty much be my standard line for the next month or so. I have a lot to catch up with and will do so as I can. Have a lot I want to share about the Olympics, Cincinnati, Oprah and what not.

Really looking forward to this weekend in Santa Barbara. So nice to play an event and sleep in my own bed. Get to hang out with my family and friends at the beach. Does it get any better than that? Lots of stuff going on during the event for Phil and I. Plus a little retirement party for Dax too. Make sure if you see him this weekend you wish him Happy Birthday. (He turned 36 and yes I am trying to throw him under the bus! What are friends for if not that?)

Should be a blast. Hope to blog again soon. :)

Retirement is like a long vacation in Las Vegas. The goal is to enjoy it the fullest, but not so fully that you run out of money

Best Of Luck To Dax (if you see him tell him we met at long beach and talked about his wrist)

Todd,

Now that the fuss has died down some, I wanted to celebrate your Olympic Victory as it should be celebrated: With a few new limericks!

The was a Brazilian named Jaws
Who hit into Phil’s waiting paws
The ball went straight down
As Marcio frowned
And triggered the large crowd’s applause

The Thin Beast seemed larger than life
While triggering opponent’s strife
Three blocks in a row
Forced Jaws to eat crow
And helped Todd get a kiss from his wife

If Phil failed to prevail at the net
The Professor never would sweat
He’d scoop up the heat
Get back on his feet
Then put away Phil’s perfect set

The battle now has been won
Their job is finished and done
With Gold ‘round their necks
And new sponsorship checks
For four years they’re second to none!

Phil and Todd went to Beijing
Where Kerri almost lost her ring
Just as foretold
They came home with gold
Now watch as they display their bling

:)
Dave in San Diego (When are you guys going to be in San Diego to “display your bling”?)

I live in Santa Barbara, and my school has a program called Teen Press, where you get to review shows and interview some pretty cool people. We're planning on going down to West Beach either tomorrow or on Sunday, so we hope to see you there!

sounds like some great matches in the semi's (gibb rosie) and final's (hyden/keenen) nice. Hope your weekend was everything you wanted

Todd and Phil pull of a miracle in Santa Barbara staving off 5 straight match points to win. We need a name for this feat like The Music City Miracle or Immaculate Reception. From the losers perspective you might call it "The Santa Barbara Boner". Congrats to the Champs!

i was following the scores online during the third match and every time the screen refreshed i had to stop myself from jumping out of my chair. i kept thinking, "i can't even imagine how much more exciting this must be in person!"

congrats on a stellar comeback!

i'm so hatin' on MD right now. i wish i was in CA.

Jah- Dax's retirement 'party' was tough. Got a bit emotional for me and I know it was very emotional to him. Great player and a even better man.

Anon- Oprah airs tomorrow. We got our names mentioned but that was about it. I would be stoked on ESPN and I think Phil would wet his pants.

Dave- Probably won't be in SD until next year. Who knows though. Great work too. Loved it.

E- Then the moral of the story is it is time to buy Tivo. :) Thanks.

TeenPress - From SB middle school. If so, you did a great job.

Anon and Scott - thanks.
